Privacy Policy

LABVAMOS Co., Ltd. has adopted this policy in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea to protect the personal information of data subjects and to handle related complaints promptly.

This English translation is provided for convenience only; if it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails. Read the Korean version

1. Purposes of processing personal information

LABVAMOS Co., Ltd. (the “Company”) processes personal information only for the purposes below. If a purpose changes, the Company will give advance notice and obtain any necessary consent.

  • Responding to website inquiries — reviewing inquiries and contacting inquirers to provide consultations and quotes
  • Operating the website — reviewing visit statistics (most-viewed pages, time spent, devices, operating systems, browsers and referring sites) and the number of company brochure downloads to improve the website’s pages, and blocking abnormal access
Responding to inquiries — legal basisArticle 15(1)4 of the Personal Information Protection Act (taking measures at the data subject’s request in the course of concluding a contract) [To be confirmed — legal review]
Operating the website — legal basisArticle 15(1)6 of the Personal Information Protection Act (legitimate interests of the personal information controller) [To be confirmed — legal review]

Personal information for both purposes above is processed without the consent of data subjects; the Company does not process any personal information on the basis of consent.

2. Personal information processed

Inquiries — requiredName, plus either an email address or a phone number
Inquiries — optional (if you fill them in)The other of the two (email address or phone number), company name, inquiry type, budget and message
Recorded automatically when you browse the websiteIP address; country of access (determined from the IP address); visit session ID (a random number created by your browser); addresses of the pages visited; time spent on each page; time of access; device type (mobile phone, tablet or PC), operating system (iOS, Android, Windows, etc.) and browser type (Safari, Chrome, KakaoTalk’s in-app browser, etc.) — determined from the information your browser sends, which itself is not stored; referring site (only the domain of the site you were on just before, such as a search engine or social media — e.g. search.naver.com; the full address, including any search terms, is not stored)
Recorded when you download the company brochureTime of download; IP address; device type, operating system and browser type — determined from the information your browser sends, which itself is not stored

The Company does not offer membership sign-up to website visitors and does not collect unique identification information, such as resident registration numbers, or sensitive information.

3. Retention period and destruction

InquiriesDeleted automatically one year after the last action taken on the inquiry (a reply or a status change).
Visit records (IP address, visit session ID, device, operating system and browser type, referring site, etc.)Deleted automatically 90 days after the date they were recorded.
Visit statistics (daily figures)Only figures — such as daily numbers of visits and visitors, device, operating system and browser types, referring sites (site domains) and most-viewed pages — are compiled separately and kept indefinitely. They contain no IP addresses or visit session IDs, so they cannot show who visited.
Company brochure download recordsIP addresses are deleted automatically 90 days after the date of download; only the time of download and the device type, operating system and browser type are kept, to count the number of downloads.
Copies of notification emailsNotification emails about new inquiries are sent through Google’s Gmail and contain the inquiry details, so copies remain in the sent mailbox (Gmail) and in the company mailbox of the staff member in charge (DaouOffice). The staff member deletes them once the consultation is over. [To be confirmed — legal review]

When the retention period has passed or the purpose has been achieved, the Company destroys the information without delay. Electronic files are erased by overwriting the space they occupied, so they cannot be recovered.

Where another law requires information to be kept, the Company stores it separately and only for the period set by that law.

4. Provision to third parties

The Company does not provide the personal information of data subjects to third parties. The only exceptions are cases specifically provided for by law.

However, to identify abnormal access, an administrator may look up the holder of an IP address (its telecom carrier or hosting company, and its country) through the public lookup services of the regional internet registries (APNIC, ARIN, RIPE NCC, LACNIC and AFRINIC). Each lookup sends only that one IP address and no other information. [To be confirmed — legal review]

5. Outsourcing of processing

Google LLC (Gmail)Sending notification emails to the Company’s staff in charge when a new inquiry arrives (a copy is kept in the sent mailbox). Because Google’s servers are located outside Korea, this may constitute an overseas transfer. [To be confirmed — legal review]
DAOU Technology Inc. (DaouOffice)Operating the company mailbox that receives the notification emails

If the outsourced work or the companies performing it change, the Company will revise this policy to give notice.

6. Rights of data subjects and how to exercise them

You may at any time ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to suspend its processing. Contact the department in charge listed in Section 9 below (Business Support Team) by email at [email protected] or by phone at +82-2-6264-1101, and the Company will act on your request without delay.

You may also make these requests through a representative, in which case the Company may ask for documents confirming that the representative is authorized to act for you.

7. Tools that store information automatically

The Company does not use cookies. However, it keeps the values below in your browser’s storage (session storage and local storage). These values do not include your name or contact details.

  • Visit session ID — a random number that ties together the pages viewed in a single visit. It is also kept in the visit records on the server (deleted after 90 days); the value in your browser disappears when you close the tab.
  • Markers for pages already opened during this visit — so that the same page is not counted twice. They stay only in your browser and disappear when you close the tab.
  • Marker for closed notice banners — so that a notice you have closed is not shown again. It stays only in your browser and remains until you delete it yourself.

In your browser settings, you can delete site data or block it from being stored. Blocking it does not affect your use of the website.

Portfolio and introduction videos are shown in the YouTube (Google) player. The player loads only when you press play, and at that point YouTube may receive connection information and store values in your browser under its own policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

8. Measures to keep personal information safe

  • Only logged-in administrators can view the inquiries, visit records and company brochure download records stored on the website, and notification emails go only to designated staff members.
  • Communication with the website is encrypted (HTTPS).
  • Information whose retention period has passed is deleted automatically.
